According to the article military veterans are significantly less likely to support politically extremist views or organizations of either the right or the left than the general public.
Certain leftist organizations have attempted to stigmatize members of the military and military veterans by asserting, through propaganda, that political extremism is much more prevalent in the military and military veterans than in the general public.
However, according to the article, the opposite is the case. It relatively clear to me that the purpose of these leftist organizations is to legitimize the politicization of the military to further their leftist political aims.
