    Jerry Leon Mason

A Tulsa man who is accused of raping a woman in her apartment in 2012 was found guilty of four felony counts on Tuesday.

Jerry Leon Mason, 50, was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree burglary in October 2012. A second first-degree rape charge and a charge of forcible sodomy were added against him in February 2013, Tulsa County District Court filings show.

The victim told police that a man wearing a mask banged loudly on her apartment door, near 21st Street and Sheridan Road, on Sept. 24, 2012, and stuffed a rag into her mouth when she answered, according to a court affidavit.

She provided police with a detailed description of the assailant and his clothing, which matched Mason and his attire, the arresting officer wrote. Mason was arrested at his home in the same apartment complex hours later.

The case was scheduled to go to jury trial before Tulsa County District Judge Tom Gillert on Monday; however, the trial was postponed one day, and Mason entered a no contest plea on Tuesday.

The first 18 years are to be under the supervision of the Department of Corrections, and he will be required to serve 85 percent of the sentence in custody before becoming eligible for parole. The remaining seven years will be suspended without formal
    supervision.
