Kaivon Washington, the suspect accused of raping a Louisiana State University student before her death last month, has been accused of rape for the third time.
According to BRProud.com, Washington was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl when he was 15 in 2020, and now faces a new allegation of rape stemming from a case in October 2022.
The victim of the latest rape allegation said the rape happened after she became intoxicated at Reggie's bar.
The victim said she spent the night at a male acquaintance's home when the two had sex.
BRProud.com reports that the victim said the sex became forceful, and Washington, who was in the room, touched her while the acquaintance raped her.
The report goes on to say that Washington apologized to the victim and that the male acquaintance grabbed his hand and made him touch her.
Washington faces a charge of first-degree rape in this latest case. He also faces a first-degree rape charge in the case involving the 15-year-old in Livingston Parish and third-degree rape in Brooks case.
Washington remains in the Livingston Parish jail.
Earlier reports:
Washington is one of the four suspects involved in the case of Brooks. Two suspects, Everette Lee, 28, and Casen Carver, 18, bonded out of prison on Tuesday.
According to the East Baton Rouge Police Department, a 17-year-old juvenile and Washington are being accused of third-degree rape.
Carver and Lee are accused of witnessing the crime and face accessory charges.
Baton Rouge police say Brooks left Reggie's Bar in Tigerland with the suspects when she asked for a ride home.
