    SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A Sacramento high school is investigating after an anti-LGBTQ
slur was found written on the walls of a bathroom and photos of
it were shared among students on social media.

The graffiti was found and "immediately removed" at Sheldon High
School on Thursday, the Elk Grove Unified School District told
KCRA 3 in a statement. School officials said they are now
investigating and that "appropriate action will be taken."

KCRA 3 obtained a photo of the slur that threatened to harm
those in the LGBTQ community. From that photo, we know it was
shared by at least three users on their Instagram stories. The
school also said the photo was "relayed to some students
    electronically."

The Elk Grove Unified School District said in a statement the
safety of their students and staff is a top priority.

"Our District and schools adhere to a policy of non-
discrimination and per our policy, any student who feels that he
or she or another student in the District is being unlawfully
discriminated against, harassed, intimidated or bullied by any
student, employee, or other person from or in the District
should immediately notify school staff or an administrator such
as the principal or a vice principal so that the concern can be
    investigated and addressed.
As this incident is being investigated, the district prohibits
retaliatory behavior against any person filing a complaint or
any participant or witness in the complaint process. Each
complaint will be fully investigated in a way that respects the
privacy of all parties concerned, and appropriate action will be
taken to remedy a finding of discrimination, harassment,
    intimidation or bullying.

    Stop discriminating against heterosexuals.
