The ID perps continue to sell the bait. The state of IDiocy on TO
should tell anyone competent enough to understand what the ID perps have
done, that bait is all they are ever going to get. My take is that the
NCSE should use the ID perp's Top Six boondoggle to dissuade any
remaining creationist support for the ID scam from continuing that
support. All they should have to do is get the IDiots to deal with the
Top Six in an honest and straightforward manner, and what happened on TO
should happen everywhere. IDiots like Kalkidas never wanted to
accomplish any valid ID science, and now he claims that the ID scam junk
is of little interest to him. If the ID perps had ever been successful
in developing any valid ID science it would have destroyed the Biblical
beliefs of the majority of their creationist support base. The
admission that the Top Six had a logical order of occurrence in this
universe was enough to kill ID for Biblical IDiots like Kalkidas and Bill.

Denton's top 3 reasons for optimism with respect to the creationist ID scam:

1. The "relentless" growth of the ID movement.

There has been an expansion of fellows willing to run the bait and
switch scam in order to keep the Wedge strategy alive, but the number of IDiotic creationist rubes willing to take the bait has decreased
dramatically after Dover. It had been years between the previous bait
and switch and the bait and switch that had to be run on the Utah
creationist rubes in 2017 when the ID perps were putting out the Top
Six, and several years until some legislator snuck in a 1 sentence
change to an act written in the 1940's that allowed teachers to advance
a student to the next level without changing their failing grades, that
would have allowed ID to be taught in the public schools, and there will
likely be another couple years until any other IDiots try to teach the junk.

The ISCID officially died in 2008, but had become moribund after the
bait and switch started to go down and no papers were submitted after
2003. The ID Network followed in 2009 (the ID Network didn't give up on
using ID as bait, they started COPE so that they could sell the switch
scam without having the embarassing moniker of ID in the name of their organization. The switch scam is supposed to have nothing to do with
ID.). ARN discussion group died after Dover, and Uncommon Descent
finally gave up April of this year, and most of the IDiots on TO gave up
after the Top Six came out Nov. 2017.

2. The materialistic explanation of the origin of life keeps looking
more and more implausible, and they cite James Tour's efforts.

James Tour has always known that ID has been a scam from the beginning.
He is the one that admitted that he didn't know how to do any ID
science, but he could not give up on the gap denial. Tour has only been interested in the gap denial. He has never wanted to develop any ID
science. My guess is that even he doesn't want to believe in the
designer of the origin of life on this planet under the conditions that
existed over 3 billion years ago because that designer is not the
designer of the Bible that he wants to believe in. MarkE also never
seemed to buy into the ID scam, but he couldn't give up on the gap
denial. MarkE doesn't want to believe in the designer that fills the
origin of life gap that he was creating. What IDiots can't deal with is
what is around the gaps. What we know about nature and how the gaps
relate to each other means that the designer that fits in the gaps is
not the Biblical designer for most IDiotic type creationists.

Denton can deal with the gaps because he has claimed that the designer
isn't needed to fill most of the gaps. Denton's designer got the show
rolling with the Big Bang and it all could have unfolded into what we
have today. Denton has been labeled as a Deist for those types of
claims. The majority of IDiots are not Deists.

3. The mind is irreducible to matter.

This has to be the lamest of the 3. The designer obviously designed a
brain that could do amazing things restricted to physical laws and biochemistry. Brains work for animals from mollusks to mammals. There
was just a paper claiming that birds could recognize themselves in the
mirror. This is mental feat that cats and dogs cannot seem to do. The designer of our brains made brains so that they would work under
existing physical conditions, and the mind has evolved along with life
using that brain.
