The use of cannabis and hallucinogens remained at “historically
high levels” last year among adults between 19 and 30 and between
35 and 50, according to a survey released Thursday.

The survey found that 42% of adults 19-30 reported using cannabis
in 2023, and 10% said they used it daily. Nearly 30% of adults
between 30 and 50 reported using it last year.

    . . .

Just great - like HALF the country is BUZZED OUT
OF THEIR MINDS, maybe most of the time ......

Hmm ... ever read "Brave New World" ? An oldie but
    a goodie .......

    And subtle existential horror .......

Not really. You imagine effects beyond the capability
of the substance to cause. I took 10 mg just a hour or so back or
THC derived from the Indica strain in a fruit-flavored gummy candy.
I take it so I can relax enough to go to sleep at night. I spent
most of the day suffering the symptoms of my post-virual syndrome
which does not allow me to exercise adequately to ensure my rest at night.
People who are dissatisfied with the effects of o cannabis
will generally gravitate toward wine and harder spirits. This is
of course far worse for them in the long run. I am 87 years of age
and stopped drinking for medical reasons when i was 30 years of age
and gee if I had joined AAA which I did not need I would have
significant chipage. Not buzzed all the time unless I am sicker or
in real physical pain when I take usually 5 mg. of THC derived
from the Sativa strain. I had a really bad summer cold toward
the end of July and did several of those in the course of my
day and it helped me tremendously.
I learned a lot about cannabis and the way the law was
bent in 1937 to keep an Federal Agency alive after the repeal
of the Prohibition of Alcohol. A little autobiography of a
Jewish jazzman who played with some of the greats in the
1930s"Milton Mezzrow" aka the "Man with the Jive". The
title was "Really the Blues" and I learned that it was
dangerous to deal cannabis and Mezzrow was confined to
a rehab prison for selling narcotics to his band mates.
Being a nurse has something to do with my opinion which
is that Cannabis is safer than aspirin. Alcohol is a
classic narcotic and a drug that can kill in acute
ingestion but we found out that denying this very
popular and traditional drug resulted in chaos where
criminals got rich by supplying the desires of the
populace, both the higher economic classes and the
lower economic classes where it was part of traditional
life to drink wine with meals.

    bliss
