NOPD's Sex Crimes Unit along with officers and detectives in the First District are searching for a suspect who allegedly sexual assaulted two women who were walking or jogging on the Lafitte Greenway on Thursday May 23, 2024.
The first assault happened at North Broad and St. Louis Street at about 7:10 a.m. The second occurred in the 3700 block of Conti Street at about 12:23 p.m.
In both cases, the female victim described the assailant as being a dark-skinned black male, wearing dark clothing and riding a bicycle.
Through investigation, detectives identified Joseph C. Davis, Black male DOB: 07-24-1985 as the alleged perpetrator of these assaults. He is being sought at this time on charges of attempted first degree rape and simple assault in connection with one of
the incidents.
