A female Australian high school teacher who “identifies as a cat” and demands to be referred to as “Miss Purr” has been accused of licking and hissing at students.
Students at Marsden State High School in Queensland allege the teacher
licked the back of some students’ hands and hissed at them while in the classroom.
Allegedly the teacher hisses whenever a student misbehaves or gets the
answer to a question wrong.
Photos published by Courier Mail show the teacher in class wearing cat
ears on a headband and a lanyard that says “purr.”

“(The teacher) sits in class and licks her hands,” a relative of one of
the students said.
“It's absolutely disgusting.”
“Something needs to be done about this.”
Another parent expressed disdain for the cat cosplaying, commenting they
want their kids to have teachers they can “look up to” — which “isn't someone who wears ears.”
One mother said the teacher made her daughter “purr” in exchange for
candy.
A Department of Education spokesperson said the behaviour “wasn't
acceptable in Queensland state schools.”
“The school is aware of parents' concerns and the principal has
addressed the issue directly with the teacher,” they said, per the Daily Mail.
“Teachers are held to the highest standards of professionalism and
ethics.”
Courier Mail on Sunday reported the teacher is no longer at the school.
