BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A months-long investigation into a series of
attempted sexual assaults along the Bryan-College Station city limits
has led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man who police say has confessed
    to multiple attacks.

The Bryan Police Department announced Wednesday that Johnny
Villalobos-Vasquez has been charged with five counts of Attempted Sexual Assault. Investigators say the cases span both Bryan and College
Station, and detectives from both the Bryan Police Department and the
Texas A&M University Police Department worked together to identify and
    arrest the suspect.

According to authorities, Villalobos-Vasquez was taken in for
questioning on July 2 and admitted to multiple attempted assaults during
    an interview with detectives.

One of the attacks tied to the investigation occurred in the early
morning hours of June 29. A Texas A&M student told university police she
had just been dropped off near Cross Street and Dogwood Street, in the U
Centre Apartments area, when she was approached by a man who asked for
    her name and number.

She declined and continued toward her apartment, but the suspect, later identified as Villalobos-Vasquez, allegedly returned and grabbed her
from behind. The woman fell to the ground as the man attempted to pull
down her shirt. She screamed, prompting the suspect to flee the scene.

Police say they were ultimately able to link the cases through evidence collected and witness accounts.

The investigation remains active, and law enforcement officials are
asking anyone with additional information to contact Bryan Police at 979-209-5300.

Villalobos-Vasquez remains in custody at the Brazos County Detention
Center as the case continues to develop.
