Common boys and girls - let's solve this mystery. Did Charlie kill
his wife or did she commit suicide because he was so bloody boring?
Charles Mason Remey (1874-1974) married Gertrude Heim Klemm
    (1888-1932) in a
Catholic ceremony in Paris in 1931. I have no information if or when
    they had
a Bahai ceremony. Klemm was the widow of a general without any
    children and
came from a wealthy Midwest family. She met and was courted by Remey
    in
Washington, D.C. Barely one year after they were married, she
    committed
    suicide.
Remey inherited millions from her that enabled him to continue his extravagant
lifestyle, which included building a huge mausoleum for his family
    named the
"Remeum." The Remeum was built outside of Washington, D.C. in
    Virginia. It
was a monstrosity comparable to Remey's ego. It had at least ten
    separate
chapels with multiple "halls of honor" to glorify his ancestors.
    Eventually,
it was ruined by vandalism and leveled in the early 1970s before his
    death.
All of Remey's family members were moved to his mother's family
    cemetery in
Pompey, NY, except for his wife Gertrude, who was left to be reburied
    on the
    same site in Virginia.
I am currently researching the circumstances surrounding Gertrude's
    suicide as
well as Remey's life. The total number of volumes Remey produced to
    document
his daily diary, travels, family history, Bahai history, marriage, and correspondence is at least 175.
