There is a rather interesting discussion about the Baha'i teachings concerning the transgender issue at
https://bahaiteachings.org/can-transgender-people-bahais/
Most of it reflects the attitude prominent among socially leftists, which is to fully accept the claims made by advocates of the transgender movement.
Only a very small number of Baha'i responders took the conservative view.
No one in the discussion mentioned the most serious circumstance, that of very small children. There are advocates, including the current occupant of the Oval Office, Joe Biden, who urge legislation to require parents to submit their small children to "
gender-affirmation," including irreversible hormone injections and even radical surgical mutilation. Mandates to do this would be based on the confused utterances of children who cannot even read, but who have been propagandized (persuaded) by adults on
the far left. Such children can easily change their minds more than once over the course of their childhood years. Yet, they are called upon to make permanent life-changing decisions before they have the maturity to do so responsibly.
Whenever I have sought the "official" Baha'i position on this subject, I find a mix of vaguely worded responses, including quotes from the teachings that speak of love and tolerance, but nothing specific about "gender identity." So-called same-sex so-
called marriage seems to be clearly forbidden, but even there, many Baha'is seem reluctant to accept that.
I have been told that it is the extreme leftist Baha'is who are the most vocal, and that they do not represent the mainstream population of believers. That would, if true, explain why it is difficult to find a clear and concise statement of principle on
such issues as this.
It seems that baha'is have been discouraged from online open discussions, and so none will likely read (or respond to) this.
