• Remove DRM from downloaded BBC iPlayer video

    From D.M. Procida@21:1/5 to All on Fri Jan 13 09:12:29 2023
I have download a BBC News video that I would like to keep. DRM means it's
only playable in the BBC iPlayer Downloads application, and is due to expire
    in a day or so.

    Best options?

    Thanks,

    Daniele

get_iplayer is the only solution that I've found that still consistently
    works

Play it on your computer and record it using 'Video' on your iPhone or iPad.

    Simples! ;-)

ffmpeg would probably do the job too.

Is using that a good idea?

get_iplayer as per the others, but if that doesn't catch this particular
stream you can use screen capture or QuickTime Player/File/New Screen
recording to snap it. Not sure if that handles audio in all cases
    though.

Worth trying ffmpeg as it _might_ scrub off the drm

If it doesn't, play the audio through SoundFlower and then QuickTime Player will capture it (as well as the video).
