• Changing multiple file names

    From Martin S Taylor@21:1/5 to All on Fri Jan 27 15:30:26 2023
    Hi:

I've always used "A Better Finder Rename..." to rename files, which is pretty good, although clumsily named and moderately expensive.

A friend just pointed out that if you select multiple files in the Finder and then right-click to select "Rename..." you get a range of options all built
    in.

    I didn't know that.

Thanks for this. Just done a quick experiment. Useful - I need to do
this from time to time. As is often the case with with graphical tools,
it doesn't support regex (but you'll already know other ways to do that
if you're mad enough to want it).

Mwah. It was already present in Sierra, OSX 10.12,
and maybe even in earlier OSX versions.
(no earlier at hand, right now)

I doan give a shit about that, I just appreciate being told about it by MST.

Yes, so long ago that I had almost forgotten about it.
