    It is on sale with a "blowout" price for a reason. 8GB RAM is pretty small these days. As others have noted, you can't add RAM to these. 16GB is much more realistic minimum.

    Having said that, this would still be a fine machine for many people. No, its not enough to develop software on. No, its not enough to play games or render videos.

    But for a typical "internet machine" - web browsing, shopping, watching TV/Movies, emails and texting - it would be fine. Or as a 2nd computer, it is definitely a bargain. I have an ancient 2014 Mac mini (Intel i5, 8GB RAM,
    512GB SSD) that works as an "internet machine" just fine. The SSD makes a
    HUGE difference. It would be unusable today if it still had a spinning hard drive. It is fine as a 2nd computer. It is not my only computer for obvious reasons.

    I personally would not want the above iMac as my only PC. Again, for obvious reasons. But for others with more modest needs/budget, it would be fine.
