I'll let y'all know how it's progressing in three weeks when the line is installed.

How did you get on? Are they OK?

    A rather more irritating niggle.

When I signed up, I was told that the price I paid would be fixed for two years. Three months in, they've changed their minds, and tell me they will
now increase it at 2.5% above the rate of inflation.

I complained, but was totally fobbed off: "Prices are increasing across the board. We have to increase ours in line with everyone else's."

Should have got it in writing. It's not a huge amount, and I'm still paying a very low rate, but the principle is disgraceful.

I had that from Plusnet. The snapshot I took at the time says:

"Our guide will take you through the what, when and how of CPI plus 3.9% increases and how they’ll apply to your services.

    * CPI plus 3.9% price increases to broadband, line rental, call plans and BT Sport

Will these price increases apply to me?

These price increases will apply to you unless you are currently in a fixed price contract minimum term.

For customers who are in a fixed price contract minimum term, with the exception of BT Sport, these price increases will only apply to you once
your minimum term ends. Please note that if you signed up to a BT Sport service on or after 9th December 2020, the price of your BT Sport service
will increase by CPI plus 3.9% as set out in your terms and conditions and
as explained in more detail below."

What they failed to make clear was that despite being offered a deal at £x
per month, I wasn't signing up for a 'fixed price contract' and so the CPI increase did apply to me. Fixed price contracts being some mythical thing
that they don't offer any more.

I called to cancel ('everyone does that Sir') and they grudgingly let me go.
