    Really interesting indeed!

LGW has two parallel runways 08/26 but it can de facto only be operated
as single runway airport because the separation forebids independent
parallel operation like at Munich Airport MUC for instance.

A couple of years ago I flew from LGW to DEN aboard a BA B777-200 with a
Lady Captain in charge. So far my longest non-stop flight.

You probably already know about this app:

If not, you might be interested - you can watch the comings and goings of aircraft world wide.

It's an iPadOS/IOS app and works on an iPad or iPhone. I don't think there is an Android version, nor is there a website.

i have used it "for real" when my daughter and son-in-law went to visit my son and daughter-in-law in Ontario.

Nope. I wrote my post in the morning.

The annoying thing with Newstap that I can never get used to is that it's
an offline reader so only sends things every 10 minutes or when you first open the app. If I don't send things manually and I'm on less then 10 minutes, the messages only get sent the next time I open the app.

Thank you for explaining! I really don't like Newstap and understand
    your frustration.

Neither Newstap nor Usenapp are great.

Agreed. Thunderbird, now, is much improved and I quite like it.

Newstap has, at least, been vetted by Apple (It's in the Apple App Store)
I have reservations about Usenapp - it's not even on Wikipedia - and I
can find out nothing about the developer.

    I haven't looked for a Flightradar24 IOS app yet.

    Hello Old John!

Similarly, I've had a look at the NATS site to which you introduced me!

You'll have no problem, I'm sure, finding FlightRadar24 at the Apple App
Store on both your IPad and iPhone.

As you say, NATS and FlightRadar24 are /very/ similar. I now have both
Apps on my iPad and iPhone!

I spend most of my on-line time in front of my 27 inch iMac though, and
can use only FlightRadar24 on that. I don't recall the time-out you
mentioned. Perhaps there is an adjustment in the software settings.

    Kind regards,
    David

Nope. I wrote my post in the morning.

The annoying thing with Newstap that I can never get used to is that it's

Neither Newstap nor Usenapp are great.

Agreed. Thunderbird, now, is much improved and I quite like it.

Maybe I will try it again. It was very flaky for me. I think it had good color
coding or the like if I remember correctly.

Newstap has, at least, been vetted by Apple (It's in the Apple App Store) >>> I have reservations about Usenapp - it's not even on Wikipedia - and I

I have used it on my iPhone for some time with no real issues.
