I'm running Sonoma.Latest on a 2018 Mini. Apple seems to imagine I want to update to Sequoia. Is there any good technical reason (e.g. bug fixes) to do so. I can live without the extra 8 emojis.

If you can, it's recommended to run the latest version. Sonoma isn't
getting all the updates Sequoia is including security-related ones.
But that's what they always say. If all that Sequoia gets me is a few more emojis, then why should I bother?

The macOS xprotect system obviously still runs on Sonoma but will normally only offer basic protection from malware.
But if you’re careful and run 3rd party apps such as MalwareBytes, DetectX Swift you should be OK with
Sonoma.

What malware?
No 3rd party "malware" stuff here, thanks.

Sorry Alan. That is nonsense. All this third party crap is *malware*.
