• Kernel panic

From Bruce@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jun 3 18:02:26 2025
Just had a kernel panic on the MacMini.

In the report was the line:

Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 24.5.0: Tue Apr 22 21:32:28 PDT
    2025; root:xnu-11417.121.6~5/RELEASE_ARM64_T8010

which is very strange since it is an Intel mini.

    No wonder it panicked. :-)

T8010 is the A10 chip as found in the iPhone 7 and 6th/7th gen iPad.
T8011 is the A10X chip from the Apple TV 4K and 2017 iPad Pros.
T8012 is the T2 chip which can be found in many Intel Macs of 2017 or later, which runs bridgeOS

I suppose they must share the same XNU kernel build, and it's your T2 that crashed.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Thank-you.
