My iPad Pro was starting to get disconnections on the USB-C port, I tried a
few gadgets, and tried them on my MBP, and confirmed it was a port issue.
Took to nearest Apple Genius dealer, who (almost reluctantly) agreed to
send it off for repair. Next day I got a call to say it was ready.
I was a little suspicious it was so fast (less than 24 hours for offsite repairs!)
Anyway, I got it today (I do a daft 9 day shift, so took me over a week to
get back there). It’s a brand new replacement - manufactured 3/3/25.
The old one was five years old in August (and the battery was around 80%),
so I’m happy enough. Definitely made keeping up the AppleCare payments worthwhile.
