• Apple Music, Get Album Artwork

    From D.M. Procida@21:1/5 to All on Sun Jun 29 08:21:59 2025
    Why is it so unreliable?

I never know if it's going to find something for disc I have imported, or find the wrong thing. If it has found something, and I clear it, chances are it
will never be able to find it again.

I know perfectly well that Apple wants me to buy an Apple Music subscription rather than have a record collection of my own so they probably don't care
that much whether I get to see a picture of the cover of an REM CD (i.e. not exactly obscure) I bought more than 30 years ago.

But, I am still a bit perplexed why clicking "Get Album Artwork" seems to activate such indeterministic machinery.

Just tried it now and in less than a second it told me that no artwork was available for two albums. It did however come up with a Beastie Boys cover for
    a Glen Miller compilation.

A crossover I'd never have expected, but now want to hear.
