However, you may not get it for several months :( https://www.theverge.com/2022/8/3/23290572/microsoft-teams-apple-silicon-native-app-m1-m2-macs-performance-boost
As someone who spends an inordinate amount of time in Teams, this is
great news as video calls are a huge energy-sapper. It's annoying that
the rollout is going to be so slow, though. Are MS worried they've not
done enough testing and are ready to pull it if serious bugs appear?
I did try the leaked version and although it worked well apparently my
video was in B/W plus I had the odd graphical glitch at my end.

Is it a sort of Sideloaded variant of the iOS app? Sideloading as such
seems to have been suspended by Apple since Big Sur 11.3.

No it's a version downloadable from an unpublicised Microsoft URL - it's
in the above article if interested.

Thanks for the warning. Teams has been on my ’nuke it! nuke it good!’ list for years. Now I’ll have to start looking for the infections on M* Macs. Bah, humbug.

Teams? Utter crap and completely insecure.
I think you're confusing it with zoom.
Never on our Macs or Linux
machines. I told my wife if her clients insist on teams she should use
it via the Safari browser on her unprivileged account. Works.
Not an option, here.

That is even worse. I told my employer - a big Swiss bank - at the
beginning of Corona when we started with homeoffice that I refuse to run
such software on my private machines. That was solved by giving me a
very neat and nice Lenovo Laptop with a Windows installed and the whole framework of banking software.
Right at this moment we started to use
another M$-solution for big corporations. Don't remember the name anymore.

OK then, how do you avoid using Teams when the whole organisation runs
on Teams and all calls (even phone calls) are made through teams? Do I
ask people to send me a letter...?
No. There aren't always workable options.

There are. I explained it. *Always*. Or you do not understand what
options are.
In my case it was a company laptop with VPN. No objections to use
whatever the company required on this laptop.

Which is as I said what is to be expected. I've never worked for an

set up is no exception.

Just noticed my Teams was updated on Friday. All works as normal.
Now I'm fully Apple Silicon native except 6 apps or drivers.
