    My wife and I have just spent the best part of an hour watching the
    video. Absolutely fascinating and providing much food for thought.

    It was the Poles who really did the cracking.
    Marian Rejewski not only cracked enigma, already in 1932.
    He also invented the 'bombe', for automating it.

    Alan Turing did a great job optimising,
    after having had the solution handed over to him on a platter.
