• Anyone using a bluetooth speaker after iOS 16?

From Ian McCall@21:1/5 to All on Wed Sep 14 18:06:25 2022
My phone will no longer connect to, or even see, my bluetooth speaker. This
is bizarre since it connects to the car over bluetooth without any issue at all.

Anyone using a bluetooth speaker since the upgrade? Definitely speaker, not a car stereo.

    Cheers,
    Ian

have you tried resetting the speaker and re-pairing it?
can any other device see the speaker?

    Ditto with my AirPods.ad to

Had to let the battery drain on my speakers and charge them up again too.
Also deleted and repaired. Worked then - odd.

For once a possible advantage of putting up with being on the beta train
    - I didn't ever have to do that to either set of airpods. A regression
of some sort in the release code.

    Cheers - Jaimie

No issues here with Bluetooth but it did mess with my Homekit setup. Lost connection with lights and sensors, which after restarts all had to be added again.
Various forums suggest I'm not alone there, it seems to be a common problem resulting from the iOS and AppleTV updates.
The new Home app hasn't met with universal approval either.
I hope the iPad update when it comes doesn't screw it up again.

iOS 16 is about a week old. Maybe 2 days old when this topic was started.
Why are you even installing it at this point? What is the rush?

All of this crap, and other stuff like this:

“Since the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max started shipping to
customers, there have been some complaints of a few bugs. Some of the
biggest are the camera vibration bug and the copy and paste notifications
bug. We know now that both of these bugs are on Apple's radar, and both
have been confirmed to be software issues that can and will be patched. “

is why I never install x.0.0 versions of anything. iOS 15.7 is just
fine.  I will - as always - wait a couple of months before installing 16.

Maybe around 16.1.1 it will be stable.

Are you seriously asking this question? Think about it for five or ten secs.

Never heard about it. In such cases I only believe such "bugs" when I
    can replicate them.

Bullshit. I never experienced an "unstable" iOS or Mac OS. Two more
weeks down the road everybody has forgotten these imaginary "bugs". Same procedure every major release.

Improved security of new releases on the other hand is of utmost importance.
