    Zen.

Alternatively buy an email service from one of the many suppliers.

Many providers stopped offering POP3 already.
In a world where useres have usually more than one device to access mail
IMAP offers options that facilitate e-mailing considerably.

I have used GMX as a back up for my other accounts (GMail/ntlworld)for
many years with no issues at all.
Its aimed at Mobile devices - but I use it in Apple mail on my Macs just
    fine

It is only a back-up on IMAP and for "specific" uses so cannot really
comment on functionality etc.. but may be worth a look - IIRC it is

I've no idea, I'm with Plusnet here, and looking though their forums and
my account settings, there seems to be no mention of POP being
    discontinued as yet.

Their settings page is here if that helps at all, and still details POP3:

    https://www.plus.net/help/email-guides/how-to-set-up-plusnet-email/

Personally I went with iCloud mail many years ago, although I do have a
PlusNet account running, it does frequently have errors popping up. It
can be trickier than usual to set up - they tend to use the alias@username.plus.net kind of configuration, so you can't just bung
your email address into a setup box.

I also use a Gmail for a backup, but to be honest, that's only now used
if I really have to log into something Google (such as YouTube or
Drive). I also have an Outlook account, using a spare iCloud address as
my username (just to use Notes and OneDrive). All of that is just setup
for a 'just in case' scenario though.

IMAP and POP. Very powerful filtering possible. Forwarding. And is under
