    I'm looking here again:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSnaxD2HSdc

I can no longer see THIS post in 'Comments' which I made 5 years ago:- https://jumpshare.com/v/JmODMbXWhlETWcU1bBZp

Please suggest any incorrect settings I may have made in Safari which
may prevent me from seeing, now, the post I made 5 years ago?

    Thanks.

    Hi David.

I have looked on the link you posted and I cannot see the post you are looking for in Safari, Firefox or Chrome on Monterey or in Safari on iPadOS. I can see other posts by you (but not the one you mention in the last, this morning).

I can only conclude that ity has been deleted (perhaps on account of its size) and thaty no amount of tinkering with browser settings will resurrect it.

    Sorry!

    John.

It appears that if I include a link to a Jumpshare URL, the post which I
make is duly removed (probably automatically)
I suspect that it's a Google (YouTube) ruling and nothing to do with The
    Centre for Computing History.
It would be good to have that confirmed though!

Something rather odd happened this evening, John. <rolls eyes>

I looked at the YouTube video on my old iMac running Linux Mint.

My posts in the comments were shown as being from @BDonTJ

I then signed-in to Google/YouTube ....... and then those same posts
were shown as having been made by David B.

Can you cast any light on how that can have happened? Perhaps it's

I saw that, but didn't bother about it.

And anyway, sorry, but I suddenly have more important things to worry
about. Anne had a fall this morning and is on her way to hospital with a suspected broken hip.

So don't expect to hear from me until things are clearer.

Oh no! I'm so VERY sorry to learn about this, John. :-(

It's only a few months since I was summoned by an elderly neighbout via
his 'care' company. I found him almost prostrate on his kitchen floor
and in agony. I waited with him, helpless really, until the ambulance I
had summoned arrived - *five and a half hours later*!

I hope your wife didn't have to wait that long.

    Do take care yourself.

I am sorry to have to say that my lovely Anne died yesterday in Poole
    Hospital.

In the end it was her lungs that gave out and I exect the death certificate to read pneumonia. But I think she just ran out of steam.

I have no idea what the future holds.

The learning curve between Ventura and Sonoma is steeper than I expected but slow and steady does it.

The main structure is pretty much the same, but some of the details have been moved, and I'm getting used to that slowly.

TouchID takes a bit of getting used to, but when it works is better than
typing in a password. Less reliable than FaceID on my iPhone and iPad.

I'm going to have to label all the keys as I did on the old keyboard. Too faintly marked for my old eyes. And I never learned to touch type.

Otherwise, much snappier performance all round.

    Onwards and upwards!

The learning curve between Ventura and Sonoma is steeper than I expected but slow and steady does it.

You've stymied me at first base!

You SHOULD be getting used to macOS Sequoia (not Sonoma - that's 'old
    hat now!) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacOS_Sequoia

Go to System Settings > General > Software Update ..... and *CLICK*!

The main structure is pretty much the same, but some of the details have been moved, and I'm getting used to that slowly.

    There's no hurry! :-)

TouchID takes a bit of getting used to, but when it works is better than typing in a password. Less reliable than FaceID on my iPhone and iPad.

    Noted. Thank you.

I'm going to have to label all the keys as I did on the old keyboard. Too faintly marked for my old eyes. And I never learned to touch type.

I am REALLY surprised by that! This is what it should be like:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Keyboard_(Mac)

Please provide a photograph of what /yours/ looks like.

Otherwise, much snappier performance all round.

My friend has an M1 iMac and he has said the same. 🙂

    Onwards and upwards!

Of course. If you need any help and/or guidance, please do not hesitate
    to ask, Old John.

Sonoma was a slip-up. I think it arose partially because I skipped Sonoma entirely, but mainly because of association of words. To me, Ventura sounds like a component of a jet engine or at least something to do with

No, nothing as specific as that - just a vague feeling of venting and
spinning. Aerodynamics is one of the many, many subjects about which I know >> almost nothing,.

Possibly you are thinking of the Venturi effect? <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venturi_effect>

Spot on! That would certainly be the source. A memory from undergraduate days, never touched on again in postgraduate days.

Thank you for clearing that up.
