There's nothing TF wrong with spending a few pence on some new ones. Proprietary replacements are relatively expensive and my initial
searches did not throw up the excellent link you've provided.

I was watching a YouTube video with some guy recommeding using these to "ground himself" while working on static sensititive electronics.
Seem excessive and in the mantra of audiofool probably, but I hope he
has a current limiting safety resistor in-line somewhere...
