I reckon Im received my NI Number inn 1956.
Today I wanted to create a personal tax account with HMRC.
I handn't needed one previously because I used my tax agent account.
(I retired at the end of 2024).
The HMRC asked for my NI number.

The website replied: We have no record etc.
I managed to sort it out but I had made no mistake..
I have had similar problems with banks this year.
Sometimes their software updates caused havoc.
It is unbelievable that they do not test adequately before releasing.

How did you get an NI number that far back if you have
only recently retired ?. Something doesn't seem to add up.
