• Heads Up Orico 4 TB SSD

Had an Orico 4 TB SSD delivered yesterday. Fitted it this afternoon and formatted it. Bit odd, my other 4 TB SSDs are 3.73 TB formatted, this was
    3. 64 TB. Anyway at 1.4 TB it balked and stopped accepting files. Windows "repaired" it but it did the same again.

Being collected for refund Monday.May be a one off, will probably never
    know.

I just plug my SSDs and M2s into the USB ports.

Isn' t it 'baulked'? In the UK?

    However nice word to use...

Brings a vision of the drive throwing up its hooves with a big whinny
    and saying 'I've had enough!'

And that's why I only buy drives from brands I have heard of that
actually have a reputation to lose

3.73 / 3.64 = 1.024, so some are quoted in Terabytes, others are in
    Tebibytes

If it had happened at 2.0TB rather than 1.4TB, it would point to an MBR
vs GPT issue, it could be a motherboard firmware issue, or the drive has
    faked its size ...

Funny you should say that. I used "baulked" but my spell checker wanted "balked".

And it's done it again it baulked at baulked", I will add it to the
    dictionary.

I did some research and Orico do produce a lot of memory kit, perhaps I
was unlucky. Anyway it is in a cardboard envelope with a stylised arrow on
the front which in this case means return to sender!

Most people have heard of Karl Marx the philosopher but few know of his
    sister Onya the Olympic runner.
Her name is still mentioned at the start of every race.
