• Vitodens 100W fault?

From Tim+@21:1/5 to All on Tue Feb 25 20:01:52 2025
This afternoon there was a very strong smell of gas between mine and my neighbours house.

Having ruled out any leaks in our system I called the gas board who did all
the usual checks in my house and my neighbours but didn’t find anything.

My neighbour’s boiler is flued to the back of their house very close to the path between our houses and seems to short cycle a lot.

I suspect that it’s possibly got a problem with delayed ignition leading a lot of unburnt gas being vented. Is there any simple way to determine if
this is the case? Any fault codes? Anyone know what a “normal” ignition time should be for this boiler and how long it will try before locking out?

We’ve never noticed such a strong smell of gas before but it may just have been accentuated by wind direction tonight.

Not my problem really but just trying to help my neighbours out.

Some years ago, there was similar problem round here. It turned out to be caused by high ground water getting into old pipes which still had a
    residue of gas in them.
