• Flat pack kitchen cabinets

Pondering some kitchen works, I come to the conclusion it would make sense
to do things piecemeal - instead of ripping everything out, gradually
replace sets of units in phases. That way doesn't make it uninhabitable for
a long time and can be done DIY as time allows.

Due to lack of storage for an assembled kitchen in one go, that either means phased delivery of ready made units a handful at a time, or buying them flat pack and making them up as things go on.

Unfortunately some of the suppliers seem to make this difficult - eg DIY Kitchens has a £750+VAT minimum order and a £99 delivery charge.

Anyone recommend suppliers of good quality units who will:

    a) deliver ready made units in small quantities without rinsing on
    delivery costs

    or

    b) sell flat packs (delivery or store collection)

In the (b) camp there's obviously Ikea. I note Howdens now sell flat packs, but it seems to be a limited range - any good? The Travis Perkins empire
(TP, Benchmarx, Toolstation) also has Essence and KitchenKit. Do you get a worse result going flat pack?

Or is it much better to stick with pre-assembled units and deal with
delivery costs/hassle? I think Howdens has local depots (so can pick up individual units as and when, whatever will fit in the car) but I think
they're still hostile to non-trade? Benchmarx seem to work similarly, is
there anyone else worth looking at? (I've heard some bad stories about Wren...)

Or is this a terrible idea and I should just get a giant order and somehow
work out where to store the entire kitchen?

    Thanks
    Theo
