• Where to get sanding sheets for Ryobi RPS18-0?

From No mail@21:1/5 to All on Sun May 11 21:23:59 2025
This is a nice little detail sander, but I want quite a lot of 60g
sanding sheets for it and all I can find are a mixed pack with three 60g sheets. The hole pattern is shown here: https://static.ryobitools.eu/remote.axd/ryobi-media-images.s3.amazonaws.com/hi/SCS10A--Hero_1.jpg?
    Any suggestions for a supplier?

Aliexpress? They have pads which are a superset of various hole patterns,
    eg:

I couldn't vouch for their efficacy...

(although aluminium oxide must be pretty commodity now - these aren't the
    fancy 3M Cubitron kind)

Thanks, but their hole pattern doesn't match the Ryobi one. Some
positions are different and there is no centre hole near the "nose"

How about getting some "mesh"[1] round discs, plant them on the sander,
place it on a flat offcut of board and trim round with a utility knife.
(in fact you could probably trim several at once)

[1] Lots of manufacturers make them now that the Mirka patents have
expired. That includes the excellent 3M Cubitron sheets.

That's an interesting idea. I'm sanding an old Oak door (from dark brown stain/varnish to light Oak) with a mix of Mak 5" and 6" ROS, Bosch 1/3
sheet OS, Ryobi detail sander, scrapers and a lot of hard work. It's
eating sandpaper at a prodigious rate.
