Since then I had to source an emergency replacement which turned out to

Now it's starting to fail and the latch won't work.

If I knew what it was called, I'd have a better chance of finding it. Currently all I seem to be able to see are the actual bolts that do the locking.

Does anyone have a clue as to what this screw could be called ?

A picture of the latch and where the screw goes would help…

Looks like you need to remove the patio door to replace the lock. File
that under ****ed if I am doing that (again).

I doubt that it has a name. Just checked mine and it looks like a
standard screw that's been appropriated by lock makers. It could be an
M4 (4mm dia) but I don't really know about these things. Your problem
will be only wanting one. A locksmith might be able to help.

I measured the screw that fitted as a stopgap as 2.65mm

Mine has a small flat metal tongue, instead of a pin/screw, prevents the gearbox turning when pressed.

I measured the screw that fitted as a stopgap as 2.65mm

Would replacing just the screw help?

If a screw from an electrical strip fitted - is it a BA thread?
    6BA should have a diameter of 0.11in or 2.79mm

Good lord, that's a blast from the past.

Yes - I remember 6BA nuts & bolts (this is really a bolt, I guess).

I'll look into that now !

    Might be M2.5 or M3.

    Both very common
