As I may have mentioned, I am now the proud owner of a new iPhone 16e.
I am still getting to grips with it but one issue is that some of the
contacts are duplicated. I transferred data from my previous Android
phone (using the app). The problem seems to be that I now have two
sources for contacts: my Google account and iCloud. I assume I need
to choose and disable the other. As I now have an iPhone and iPad, my
thinking is to use iCloud. However, there are far more contacts in
Google than iCloud. Should I copy all the contacts from Google to
iCloud replacing duplicates then link the device to iCloud (only)? Am
I missing something?
I am also using the Google calendar (which I must have linked to my
iPad in the past) that results in all the birthdays etc being
duplicated. Is there a benefit in using Apple's calendar for
consistency?
Am I right that Safari by default uses Google Chrome as its search
engine? Is this okay?

Sorry but an addendum: would I be better to delete the iCloud contacts
and transfer the Google contacts in their entirety? (or link my iPhone
to my Google account instead??)
