Now you know why Joe Taylor thought that weak signal digital modes
would be useful, not just when the sun is inactive, when the spinny >windmills are becalmed too.

Don't count on the spinny windmills being enough even for the weak
signal modes. Yesterday, they were producing a massive 2.49% of our
needs (and that's on a warm, sunny Sunday when demand was very low).

I don't count on the spinny windmills and solar farms for anything, the
reason it's called renewable power is because the generation machinery
needs renewing frequently, at least twice as often as for a fossil fuel generating station.

I remember the KW2000B used to disconnect one of the 6146 PA heaters on
the 160m position (easily reversed). The operator also had to remember
to flick a switch on the PSU to reduce the HT. I never owned one of
those, I just spent the time replacing a 6BW6 with a QQV03-10 with both sections wired in parallel.
