There are quite a lot of SDR receiver sites that do provide general

    Try:

    Successful mission :)

Now I'll have to go and try some of those.

The trouble these days are that the online receivers are so diverse (no
pun intended). Before webSDR there were just a few JRCs and Ten-Tecs
controlled by Bob Sillet's Shortwave Log.

When was the last time Ofcom revoked an amateur radio licence or
prosecuted a holder for illegally operating out of band? Judging by the
number of radios on the sales sites shown with 27.xxx on the display,
people pirate with impunity because they realise that Ofcom are not

There will always be the risk takers. There's also the possibility they
could be prosecuted under other legislation for say, endangering an
    aircraft.

It's a bit difficult to transmit out of band if you only have a receiver though.

Quite. That puts me in mind of Jamie Macpherson, who was hauled before
the Sheriff for possessing a still.

joke predates current law... (So do I. Ed)

"But yeronner, it's only an ornament in the fireplace, I've never used it."

"The law says you may not have possession of the equipment. If you do,
you commit an offence. Have you anything to say in mitigation or any
other offence to take into consideration before I pass sentence?"

"Yes, yeronner, last week I raped your daughter."

    "Don't be absurd: I don't have a daughter."

"No yeronner, but I have the equipment."
