• Male motorist arrested after eight-year-old cyclist knocked off his bik

    An eight-year-old boy riding a bicycle was knocked down by a car in Paisley, according to police.

    A 43-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the crash.

    Officers in the area are now appealing for information following the incident, which occurred around 4.40pm on Netherhill Road, Paisley, on Monday, May 15.

    Police say the driver of a Ford Fiesta collided with the child.

    The young boy is said to have sustained injuries and following the incident, a female passerby stopped to pick up the child and transport him to his home address.

    Police are asking this woman to get in touch with them as part of their enquiries into the incident.

    A spokesperson from the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Police Division said: “Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2621 of 15 May 2023 when calling. Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to
    Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
