A cyclist in his 20s is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car, which then collided with another vehicle, in East London. The collision has seen a woman, 24, arrested and rush hour drivers were forced to find an alternative route
this morning (Monday, September 11) before the route in Hackney Wick reopened.
Officers have appealed for information. A spokesperson for the Met told MyLondon: "Police were called at approximately 19:40hrs on Sunday, 10 September to reports of a cyclist injured following a road traffic collision in Kenworthy Road, E9.
"The cyclist – a man aged in his 20s – was taken to hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition. He was injured after being struck by a car which then collided with another vehicle. The driver of the car – a 24-year-old woman â€
“ was arrested on suspicion of causing GBH by dangerous driving.
"She remains in custody. Road closures were put in place while the incident was dealt with; these have now been lifted. Enquiries into the circumstances continue. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD7039/10Sep."
