  • Teen in hospital after bike and van smash in Warrington

    A teenager has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after his motorbike was involved in a collision with a van in Warrington. Police say they were called to reports of a crash involving a motorbike and a Ford Transit van on Winwick Road,
    close to McDonalds, at around 7.50am on Monday (October 9).

    The motorbike rider, a 17-year-old from Manchester, suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police say his injuries are not believd to be life-threatening.

    There were no reports of any injuries to the driver of the van. The road was closed for over three hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

    Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any dashcam or other video footage to come forward.

    Sergeant Simon Tickle said: "This incident occurred at a busy time of the day, when many people will have been making their way to work. We’re urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.

    "The same goes for anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which could aid our enquiries. Please contact us via our website, cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, or call 101, quoting IML-1663405."
