  • Cyclist, 27, who died in fatal crash named for the first time as woman,

    A young man who was killed in a serious crash in Hackney in September has been named for the first time by the police. Harry Webb, aged 27, was living in Hackney when he was cycling in Kenworthy Road shortly before 8pm on Sunday, September 10.

    The man, originally from Powys in Wales, was seriously injured in a crash with a car. The driver of the car then hit another car.

    Mr Webb was rushed to hospital with severe injuries, but died two days later on Tuesday, September 12. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

    An investigation was launched by detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit. The driver of the car – a 24-year-old woman – was arrested and has been bailed, pending further enquiries, to a date in early December.

    The Metropolitan Police have also released three photos of Mr Webb. One of the pictures shows him at a wedding, wearing a suit and his distinctive red glasses. There's also a selfie of him in the mountains, and finally a photo of him in a coffee shop,
    enjoying a coffee and smiling into the camera.

    Detectives are continuing to appeal to any people who witnessed the collision, or any road users with camera footage, to come forward. They say: "Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 020 7232 7839 or contact via X @

    It's unlikely that the December hearing will be anything other than a
    renewal of remand.

    You spout such a lot about the working of the justice system, whereas
    you actually know so little about how it works.

    But still, you probably didn't need to know much while mopping the
    floors on the night shift.

    Ideal job, really. When you were actually doing it, that is, as opposed
    to posting on usenet.

    If he had stayed in Wales, the killer would have had a 20mph limit to adhere to.

    20 limit took effect: 17 September

    No chance - you'd just file it in the bin if a cyclist sends any footage in - do your own dirty work for a change.
