A Jaguar driver has been fined £300 and given 10 points on his licence for drink driving.

Romeo Bopda Wafo, 45, was charged with drink driving after a roadside test on Trundleys Road in Deptford.

The court heard that on April 20 he blew a reading of 53 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit in England is 35 microgrammes.

Wafo appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court last Monday (October 16) after pleading not guilty to the offence.

However, he was found guilty by a bench of magistrates.

Wafo, of Rolt Street in Deptford, was fined £300, told to pay a £120 surcharge and £150 in costs.

His driving licence was endorsed with 10 points.

Overall, for these days, that was quite a low financial penalty.

    And no disqualification.

    No points on mine.

How many points are there on your wife's driving licence these days?

Was your reaction that it was merely a mild chuckle's worth?

Or is it the full "schadenfreude" belly laugh at her expense?

he must have had a reason.

After all, he didn't get the mandatory disqualification.

    Any ideas?

[Yes, to you, that's entirely rhetorical.]
