    Listening on Freeview. Several short bursts of alarmingly loud raspy
    mains hum during the music. Reminds me of when you push a 1/4" jack into
    a big guitar amp in a careless manner. However I just touched the case
    of the radio and I didn't get a fatal shock, so not so 60s after all.

    That has to be their end, I'd have thought, since most interference on DAB
    is only audible as drop outs normally.

    I have noticed of late that Classic FM drops out for a few seconds with a tune-in jingle, a little advert is inserted and the playing music
    continues. Is this why BBC radio has dropped out.

    Could this be a new approach to advertising to catch the listener's
    attention at the start so they don't walk off and make cups of tea?
