    to BBC2 for the 6pm news.

    Actually, I think ITV could have shown it, the exclusive match sharing
    for Euro 2024, is only in essence a gentleman's agreement between BBC
    and ITV. As far as UEFA are concerned, both broadcasters are fully paid
    up to both show whatever they like.

    I'm sure ITV's producer opted not to show the penalties, for fear of
    upsetting the BBC, and they'd go and show the England semi-final match (currently ITV will be showing that exclusively)

    Also not worth doing it, because no one will have been watching ITV
    during that shoot out anyway !
