At the Sidmouth Folk Festival this week they showed a film "14th
Sidmouth International Folk Festival - 1968". Shot entirely in 16mm by
David and Peter Sharp with equipment 'borrowed' from the BBC.
Not only was the picture quality so good that it was difficuilt to
believe it was 16mm, but the location recording and sound editing were absolutely first class and would put a lot of modern television
production to shame. I had no idea my old friend Peter Copeland had
been involved in this project, but I was delighted to discover that he
was credited with the sound editing.
I spoke to David Sharp after the screening and he introduced me to his
wife, Eva, who had been the location sound recordist.
