Does anyone have experience of this new Ruark radio (link included for reference not advertising purposes): https://www.ruarkaudio.com/products/r1s-smart-radio

I am looking for a replacement for my bedside radio. I have taken to
listening to a foreign language radio station (DR2) on a timer to send
me to sleep. I also like the idea of Internet radio for improved audio
    quality compared to DAB.

One adverse comment is that it only has eight presets, but this seems
to me adequate. Another is that the sound quality is less clear at low
volumes, which could be an important consideration at the bedside.

My next step is to arrange a demonstration but I was interested in any
    comments first.

I have the Roberts 93i, now superseded by the 94i, which appears to be
similar except for the addition of bluetooth.

It does have particularly clear sound at low volume, and no audible
hiss or hum, which I noticed because I use mine as a bedside radio.

A search for "internet radio" on Amazon gives a much greater choice
than when I bought mine, so you may find something else that would do
    just as well.

    Rod.

I have a Roberts 94i and quite happy with it, I have no problems with
DAB. I tend to use a USB dongle in the back as BBC use more and more presenters who I will not listen to - Jeremy Vine and all the camp ones.
