Have you got enough money to build the roads? WRT the water pump, you
are trying to place it adjacent to a road aren't you? (though I'm not
100% certain that's relevant with Deluxe... not seen an iPad version).

ash - not sure about that, will try to make sure I am near a road.
Money - yes, I have enough.

And, is the new version really '5', I've seen it as '2013' and heard
that EA is dropping version numbering from games in favour of perman-
    ent web-connections and constant updates/upgrades a-la MineCraft
(among others). I can see it's going to go subscription based :-(

I've been following the fun and games since release. I absolutely loved SimCity and SimCity 2000 - played it to death and bought it again
recently from gog.com. I'd forgotten I had the iPad version after
trying out the iPhone version a while ago and deciding it was too
fiddly at that size of interface. iPad one works well, but I'm finding
it very hard to work out why some things are occurring (I've
essentially built a slum town and finding it hard to get land value to increase, plus I'm permanently short of money).
Parks. Makes the sims happy, and want to live there, thereby driving
up the value of the land in the area.

Have they got police/fire/medical cover nearby? Power and water?
You know all this I'm sure. You just got to make it somewhere they
    want to live.
... But I still can't wait for the Mac release, there is supposed to
be an announcement in April regarding the Mac version... and it's
    April now... Where's the anouncement?!

I think they've been rather busy fixing the utter shambles that has
been the PC launch. Have you read much about what's been going on?
Server overloads, cities just disappearing, mad AI and a tiny, tiny
map. I also was desperate to get this new version, but to be honest I'm now having second thoughts.
I think some of the issues will take more than minor tinkering to
fix. I think the whole region/city size thing is not going to be
that simple to do. The traffic AI I think should be fixable.

WRT server problems, users need to be able to save their own
cities locally. I'm sure they're just gearing up for a subscription
    model of revenue generation. :-(
As an aside, I'm reasonably annoyed that an online game requiring an account is forcing me to choose which platform I buy for. Why can't I
buy PC now and download for Mac when it's ready? Irritating.
Yup, that is plain old daft. Surely you get a license key and you
can only login the once with it? How can that be a problem?

I may well have 'got over it' by the time the Mac version arrives.

    Justin C, by the sea.

SimCity Deluxe was a great game of its era but has now outdated. Maybe I played this game more than anyone else in the world. Nowadays, I'm playing stumble guys game that is a great multiplayer battle royale games. You can get it at https://
